# Basic Linux Directory Commands 🐧💻

### • Make a new folder 'newFolder'

```bash
mkdir newfolder
```

### • Make a hidden directory (also . before a file to make it hidden)

```bash
mkdir .NewFolder
```

### • Make multiple directories at the same time

```bash
mkdir A B C D
```

### • Make a new folder in a specific location

```bash
mkdir /home/ubuntu/Mydirectory
```

### • Make a nested directory

```bash
mkdir -p A/B/C/D
```

### • Print work directory. Gives the present working directory.

```bash
pwd
```

### • change directory to the provided path

```bash
cd path_to_directory
```

### • change directory to the home directory

```bash
cd
```

```bash
cd ~
```

### • Go to the last working directory.

```bash
cd -
```

### • change directory to one step back.

```bash
cd ..
```

### • change directory to one step back.

```bash
 cd ../..
```

### • to make a directory in a specific location

```bash
 mkdir  directoryName
```
